From Sicily to Tuscany: this is how Tenuta Decimo was born. It was bought in the 70s by my grandfather, Cavaliere del Lavoro Leonardo Di Maria, who fell in love with Tuscany during his commercial travels. He bought the company which was in a state of abandonment, the villas were little more than ruins, but with patience and determination the Decimo estate was returned to its former glory. From the lemon plantations of Sicily we passed to the olive groves of Tuscany; today, with the passion passed on by my grandfather, I carry on the family tradition, tending the olive groves of my Tenuta Decimo with love and commitment.

15 towers stand out in the distance on the hills of Val d'Elsa, in the province of Siena - Tuscany, and are the symbol of San Gimignano making its profile unique. Developed between the 9th and 12th centuries, it was during the 13th century that many of the palaces that can be admired today were built and the famous towers erected, at the time as many as 72, which later became the symbol of the city which today has been nominated by Unesco as a world heritage site. In this territory there is the "Tenuta Decimo" in a splendid position and within which there are its olive groves where the native plants are grown (Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio and Corregiolo). The extra virgin olive oil (EVO) that is produced is the fruit of the tireless daily commitment to take care of every plant in the olive grove of Tenuta Decimo. The native plants (Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio and Corregiolo) are grown using strictly organic and certified procedures, fertilization is with natural products, pruning is skilful, hand harvesting and immediate cold pressing. Here we work with particular attention to environmental protection and with a lot of passion for this land that my grandfather Leonardo Di Maria handed down to me. Thus was born our organic extra virgin olive oil, unfiltered, with very low acidity which embodies the essence of the Tuscan tradition. Cold pressing takes place at a local oil mill that uses the latest generation machinery that guarantees very high quality, waiting for our company oil mill to be ready. All the olive trees are found within our Tenuta Decimo – San Gimignano, an area classified as the most suitable for the production of oil in the province of Siena. It is an extra virgin olive oil with an intense fruity taste and strong scent of fresh vegetables, pleasantly spicy, produced with the skilful blending of moraiolo, leccino and frantoio olives. Tenuta Decimo EVO oil has a golden yellow color and goes best with raw dishes, vegetable appetizers, soups, bruschetta, shellfish, grilled fish and meat, cheese, pasta and in general with all Tuscan dishes, without modifying its taste and enhancing its qualities to the maximum. Production is limited to ensure the high quality and authenticity of the product. We have also started monocultivar production, to enhance the Leccino, Frantoio and Moraiolo in purity, with specific combinations and with a beautiful case that contains three bottles of our most exclusive production.
